The First Descendant, a popular game known for drawing inspiration from various sources, is gearing up to introduce a new hero named Luna. Luna is a music-based hero who provides buffs to your team, reminiscent of Overwatch’s Lucio. In fact, the weapon they both use is quite similar. However, the similarities don’t end there.

Nexon recently revealed a new Luna skin that bears a striking resemblance to Luna Snow from Marvel Rivals. Luna Snow, a K-pop idol with ice powers, has a similar name and hairstyle, although the hairstyle is an optional cosmetic in this case. This has raised the question once again – is this a rip-off or an homage?

While some elements in The First Descendant may seem familiar to players of other games, such as the sniper rifle reminiscent of Destiny 2’s Sleeper Simulant, the game generally does a good job of creating unique characters. Luna’s resemblance to Lucio and Luna Snow is a bit too close for comfort, but other characters like Bunny, Valby, and Freyna stand out on their own.

It’s unlikely that anything will change before Luna’s release on August 2. The similarities may be a nod to the characters that inspired Luna, rather than a direct copy. Ultimately, The First Descendant continues to offer a diverse range of characters that add to the overall gaming experience.
